Yet this one is nothing like a pearl. 20 minutes long, totally unbalanced with levels you can beat without even looking, and one level in the middle that is a real pain. Add low quality animation. I understand it as a prototype, not as something you pay for and called final release.. It's not Contra. It doesn't have the pace or the sheer amount of enemies or bullets on screen to live up to that comparison.Probably more fun than throwing 279 pennies at the homeless.. Sudden and heavy FPS drops; forget about fullscreen if you're running more than 1 display since the game just launches into black screen (you then have to alt+enter your way out of it, restart the game and maximize the whole thing [maximize btw guarantees even less FPS!]); while the music is somewhat decent, the gameplay brings nothing new.If I'd like to play Contra, I'd play Contra.. Very enjoyable but pretty hardcore contra clone. Sadly it is very short.. It's ok. Not worth a negative rating. Plus it's very cheap and often bundled. You get at least what you pay for, if not a bit more.. We wanted the best, you know the rest. A Contra look-alike, that does not stand to its predecessor. But is it THAT bad? Let's find out! The game greets you with a nice soundrack and pretty good 8-bit graphics. Unfortunately the gameplay is ruined by bad controls especially in terms of jumping. And when you can't land on a platform becouse of ♥♥♥♥ed up controls - you know that this game has an issue. A prefect run can be ruined by a single jump and then it's back to the beggining or nearest check point (THANKS GOD FOR THAT). Also this game has a TIMER. And when such slow-paste game makes you rush the level becouse of the mistakes you made before - it doesnt't help the situation at all. At least it has decent multiplayer.What else do we have in this game? Ah! The WEAPONS. There's quite a variety of weapons in this game: machineguns, lasers, flamethrowers etc. But if you want to at least have a chance to finish the mission you need a ROCKET LAUNCHER. Because of its wonky controls you will find it difficult to make precision jump evading enemy fire and trying to kill enemies at the same time. For situations like this you take the ROCKET LAUNCHER! HELL YEAH! Nice damage and homing rockets, thats all you need to know. Bosses are also pretty good i guess. Also i find them easier than the main level.Did i mention GET THE ROCKET LAUNCHER?Let me spell it out for all of you guys for the last time:GETTHEROCKETLAUNCHERThe game is pretty cheap so retro-gamers should give it a shot. 6\10P.S.
